The Drunken Monkey Lian Shang Po Private BarThe History of a Legend

The ancient sages said, “Do not despise the snake for having no horns, for who is to say it will not become a dragon?”

So one man may become an army

Nearly a thousand years ago in ancient China, at the time of the Sung Dynasty, there was a cruel and corrupt government.

A band of men riding as outlaws–heroes–where driven to live, hidden in the Water Margins of Liang Shan Po.

Shoreditches best kept secret !

In late 2009 Liang Shan Po – a Speakeasy style members bar was opened on the corner of Shoreditch High St and Great Eastern St.

In an area with more than it’s fair share of bar openings, too many of which are formulaic, Liang shan Po truly offers a unique proposition.

Bathed in copper and gold with rich coloured furnishings and hand carved wooden pillars finished with dark grey goldust effect ceramic floor.
